Prague Boutique

The boutique is located on Old Town Square, one of the most renowned places in the historic centre of the capital city in the building of former insurance company. This majestic building was built between years 1899 and 1901 according to the project of renowned contemporary architect Osvald Polívka (he also projected Obecní dům in Prague). Girard-Perregaux has converted the place while maintaining the wonderful 5 metres high vault and the arcade surrounding the window and the front door.

The colours are sober and the lines are devoid of all decorative excess. Wenge wood is used in an unusually light tone that enhances the grain. Considerable research has gone into the lighting, and the armchairs upholstered in dark green leather are inspired by the pieces Mies van der Rohe designed for the German Pavilion at the International Fair in Barcelona in 1929. Every detail has been meticulously studied, and every element designed accordingly, just like a Girard-Perregaux watch.

This elegant architecture enhances the display of the collections, including exceptional complications. The precious setting gives visitors the opportunity to admire exceptional timepieces, such as the famous Tourbillon with three gold Bridges, and to experience the exclusive world of the Brand, whose origins date back to 1791.

This is the Brand’s seventh exclusive boutique in the world, after Gstaad in Switzerland, Beijing, Shanghai, Macao and Hong Kong in Asia, Hyderabad in India.
